Solar Viewing and Star Party!

On 8/23/2025, the Barnard Seyfert Astronomical Society (BSAS) will have a free public solar viewing and star party. We will be at the Montgomery Bell State Park ball field.

⭐Star Parties are fun events where we get to share our passion for the night sky with the community.

☀️6:30pm - 8:30pm: We will be viewing the Sun through safe filters to see magnetic sunspots. Also, see exhibits of space science and astronomy items in the pavilion.

🌙8:30pm - 10:30pm: Look through various telescopes to see objects in the night sky. BSAS members might be viewing planets, star clusters or other objects.
IMPORTANT: Event is canceled if the weather is cloudy/rainy. ☁️

To find the party, turn into the park from HWY 70; follow the road as it curves around the ball field, and you'll see the party in the middle of the field.
